Many people have asked me the scientific reason behind throwing coins into rivers and wells as good luck. Here's the answer.

In ancient times coins used be made up of gold,silver and copper. Moreover rivers and wells were the primary source of drinking water. Purification of these sources was very important and from this necessity came the brilliant idea of throwing coins as a ritual.

I would draw your attention to an earlier post 'ANTIMICROBIAL COPPER' where the disinfecting property of copper was explained. The same principle works here, purifying water by killing germs harmful to us. However now a days this is followed blindly by people without understanding that current currency is just polluting the water.


With the end of Kalyug we must now move away from Bhakti movement and refocus ourselves towards Gyan. This will help us understand the brilliance of our rituals and discard the rituals which are no longer beneficial to us.
